Here you will be able to find information on upcoming flower shows, photos and results of past flower shows.
Two flower shows are held each year:-
The Claremont Daffodil, Camellia and Spring Flower Show and The Claremont Lily
and Summer Flower Show.
The venue is The Claremont Memorial Hall at the corner of Bilton Street and Main Road Claremont. Adequate parking is available in Claremont Village car park adjacent to the hall.
The Spring Show is held on the first Sunday in September and
the Saturday afternoon before (i.e. sometimes Sat 31st Aug.).
The Summer Show is held on the second Saturday afternoon and Sunday of January.
Opening times are:
Saturday 1.30 to 5.00pm (spring), 1.00 to 5.00pm (summer);
Sunday 10.00am to 4.00pm.
Shows have three major sections:
1) Specialized Section - Spring, Daffodils; Summer, Lilies.
Exhibitors in this section come from all over Tasmania to compete.
There are three levels of competition, Open, Intermediate and Novice.
A notable grower in Claremont, Rod Barwick (Glenbrook Bulb Farm) is mentor for
Both shows and a well-known and successful breeder especially of miniature Daffodils
for which he is internationally acclaimed. His exhibits in the Show can Always
be relied upon to draw favorable comment in the Open Section.
2) General Section - Native Plants, Cut Flowers, Pot Plants, Flower Arrangements, Garden Produce etc. In spring there is a large section for Camellias and in summer for Roses, Gladioli, Fuchsias, Dahlias, Pelargoniums feature especially. There are classes set aside for children's exhibits in every show.

3) Garden Club Section - For three local clubs- Claremont Garden Club, Glenorchy Garden Club and Lenah Valley Garden Club. In this section, members exhibit flowers, plants and garden produce in friendly competition within each club.
Everybody is encouraged to exhibit in these shows. If required, Show committee member will help with your entries benching.
Entries may be brought in for benching:
2.00pm to 7.00pm on Friday or
8.0am to 11.00am on Saturday ( 11.00am all benching finished and judging will commence).
Exhibitors should retrieve their exhibits between 4.00pm and 4.15pm Sunday.
